# Movietta

> Movietta is a Mac app that turns a folder of video clips and photos into a finished, edited video with one click. The AI runs entirely on your Mac: no account, no cloud uploads, and it works offline. Free during the beta.

## What it does

1. Watches everything: a vision model on the Mac reviews every clip and drops blurry, dark and shaky shots.
2. Keeps the good bits: trims dead time and drops repeat takes.
3. Builds a story: puts scenes in order and adds a title.
4. Cuts to music: edits land on the beat, using included royalty-free tracks or your own music.
5. Cleans it up: matches color, steadies shaky shots and levels the sound.

You can direct it in plain words, for example "30 seconds, upbeat, focus on the dog, end on the sunset." Remix makes a fresh take with other shots, another order and another song.

## Outputs

- Reel: 15 to 60 seconds, vertical 9:16, for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels and Snapchat.
- Movie: up to 15 minutes, the whole story.
- Export the edit to Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve with every cut intact.

## Built-in editor

Timeline (trim, split, reorder), 10 filters with strength sliders, light and color adjustments, speed from 0.25x to 8x, titles and captions, 9:16 / 4:5 / 1:1 / 16:9 sizes, zoom, rotate and flip, autosave.

## Privacy

All analysis and editing happens on the Mac. Footage is never uploaded. There is no account. It uses open AI models that run locally (Qwen3-VL 2B, 4B or 8B, or Gemma 3 4B), chosen on first launch. It does not use ChatGPT or Claude.

## Who made it

Movietta was built by Trevor, who had years of footage, from house flips and remodels to family moments and memorial videos, and no time to edit it. Movietta does the editing automatically.
